Ø Tom &
Sam: They are the cousins of my friend
Sara and they are the main characters.
Ø Sara: I met
her in America. She is a genius.
Ø Lia &
Teena: Sara Lia &Teena are
triplets.
Ø Bill:
He is related to the others, but how? Well, sorry but that’s a surprise!!!!!!!
Ø Mr.
Thomas: He is the owner of house.21. The house near Sarah’s house.
The
beginning
It all started on Sunday. My friend Sarah had
sent me an e-mail. I had met her in America during vacation and within no time
we became friends and now she sent me an e-mail about her first investigation,
in Dallas!
It was summer vacation and Tom and Sam were
so excited that they nearly jumped out of their skin .They got a courier from
their cousins that said:
Dear Tom & Sam,
Since it is summer vacation, we are planning to have a cousins' get together in our
house this time. We are sending the tickets to Dallas. See you there.
Yours,
Sarah, Lia & Teena
Last year
the two brothers were sent to Oklahoma for higher studies .This was the first
time that they were going to their cousin’s house. And so they were very excited !!! The next day they
went to the train station along with their dog: Fin. Along the way Fin started
to dig near a museum and found an old paper. Tom thought that someone gave it
to Fin and quickly kept it in his bag.
The strange revelation
After
reaching home, the brothers were exhausted after the journey so they decided to
take a nap. After a long nap the brothers joined their sisters in the tree
house in their back yard. Tom accidentally took the paper Fin found, while taking the gifts they
brought for the sisters. Filled with curiosity, Tom opened it and was shocked
to see that it was a map signed by their ancestor Brianna. He passed it to Sara who
was the encyclopedia in the group. She narrated the story of Brianna. She said
- “Brianna had 2 daughters- Jessie and Daisy. Both of them were always
bickering. Jessie and Daisy grew up and married but still did not stop
fighting. Instead they split the family into two. One is us and the other is
Bill’s family. Bill was a good boy but their families used to fight (only
grandparents).
The room
was quiet for some time and then Tom spoke up. He said “We should start looking
at the map and figure out what it leads to”. Everyone agreed. After some time
the observant Lia said “I found something. There is a picture of a key near
Bill’s house.”
Then Tom
said “Why don’t we go there and check? I think that Grandma Jessie is not
there.”
And so
they went to Bill’s house which is a large villa with a beautiful garden.
At Bill’s house
Bill’s
house was practically deserted. His grandparents went with his mom to the mall
for shopping. Only Bill and his dad were at home. This was the right time for
Tom, Sam, Sara, Lia and Teena to go to Bill’s house. After a small discussion,
they went to Bill’s. They talked with Bill and told him all that had happened. He
said:
“I think
my dad told me that he found a mysterious box with a letter attached to it. The
letter made no sense. But after hearing your discovery, I think that is what
you are looking for.”
So, they
went to his father’s room. He was trying to fix an old music player Tom, who
was an expert in fixing electronics gave a hand and in no time they fixed
it. “So, why are you all here?”- He
asked the children. Bill quickly narrated the story to his father. His father
said-“Yes, this makes sense, I trust you. I’ll give you the box.”
The box
looked precious alright, so they took it back home carefully.
At house no. 21
After
reaching home, the children (including Bill) opened the box. Inside the box was
another map with a key. Tom said –“According to the map it looks like a map of the
house which our ancestors used to live. And look, there is a place marked with
an x.” Sara thought and said –“Looks like a bedroom, but it looks familiar. OH
I GOT IT, I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!” She was screaming on the top of her lungs –“The
old cupboard holds the treasure for sure I’m sure.” Everyone laughed Sam said
-”Good finding sis but I think you should go for rhyming classes don’t cha
think Tom. He shook his head “Yeah, but we’re not here to tease, we’re here to
find the treasure. “That did it. Everyone ran to Sara’s mum & dad. They
said –“Don’t you girl’s remember that we sold it to Mr. Thomas at house no.
21?”Just after they said that, the children ran as fast as they could to house
no. 21. They rang the doorbell and a friendly young man came out to greet them.
This time Lia narrated the story to him and he said –“OMG! This is a fabulous
discovery, you may check in at once.
They checked a lot of times but no luck. They
were going to give up when Teena said –“Hey, I feel something at the back.”
Then everyone pushed it to the back. What they saw was plain wood. Lia found that one of the edges was torn. No
old wood would tear off like that, so Bill just ripped it off and behold. There
was a locker. The children inserted the key and it opened it. Inside was a treasure
chest with gold and a note that read:
Dear
daughters,
I’ve
always desired that you both stop bickering, alas! You never listened to me. If
you have found this treasure, that means you have started to work together, I would be very happy if you both did so.

There might
be a lot of precious treasures in the universe, but the most precious is love.
